LFW Topman Design

Smart tailoring and hippie chic was seen on the Topman Design catwalk this season. With Morrocan influences and a colourful palette the spring/summer collection is much more clean-cut and mature compared to AW11.

LFW BACK - Ann-Sofie Back

SS12 BACK follows in the clean look of the previous season. There are three themes running through the collection, the tiny belt detail, the standout darts and the boning details, all derived from previous mainline collections.
Colours are bright fuchsia, the yellow chardonnay, midnight blue, ecru and off-white. The overall impression is clean, fresh and almost sporty.

LFW Basso and Brooke

At first glance, this latest collection from Basso & Brooke bears many of the hallmarks for which the duo are renowned: super-sharp-end technology and technique, luscious, riotous colour, sumptuous elegant tailoring and ultra modern yet classic wearability. Upon closer inspection, however, this collection also marks a subtle yet significant shift in the duo's modus operandi.

LFW Felder Felder

This season's key pieces use an eisflower technoprint created from photographs of bullet studs. The print comes in ocean, grey, black and white, and salmon features in nippy and ever-collectable skater skirts and dresses, long dresses with suede bodies and more tailored pieces. Emphasis is on tailoring enabling confidence and fluid feel.

LFW Eudon Choi

For SS12, Eudon Choi reinvents classic sportswear shapes from decades past with a modernist edge. Clean linear colour blocked pieces are expertly juxtaposed with fluid elegant separates. A bold mix of double fused napa leathers, linen, technical silk and resin coated cottons sit neatly side by side on linear shaped overcoats and dresses.
Metallic embroidery adds touch of psychedelic texture teamed with boyish bombers and neat leather gym shorts. 1960's and 70's sportswear shapes inspire clean silhouettes. Elegant column dresses and volumous trousers echo a by gone era adding a youthful dimension.

NYFW 3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim's SS12 collection is an evolution of working with geometry and active wear, it concentrates on the freedom and fragility of kites. A simple form, suspended in the air held taught with a lithe spirit counterbalanced with an opposing force.
Here are some pics from the show...

NYFW Carlos Miele

Immersive Landscape was born from the idea of immersive artificial environments, which can be created by virtual reality. In a perfect imaginary world, there is perpetual sun - it is full of vivid colours in bright chemical tones.
Miele sought a dialogue between artificial and natural, modified beauty and organic, technology and life. For this season's collection, I created an artificial paradise, filled with liquid and fluid lines, sleek sculptural forms and vibrant digital prints.
